Eels directors turn on each other

The infighting at troubled NRL club Parramatta shows no signs of letting up, with board member Paul Garrard openly questioning the commitment of fellow director Geoff Gerard.

Gerard, a former Eels player, called for the remaining four Parramatta directors to step aside on Monday in the interest of the club moving forward out of the NRL salary cap scandal.

However Garrard, who is also the Parramatta mayor, indicated he had no intentions of stepping aside come this week's extraordinary meeting at the club.

"He's obviously not up to the hard work that needs to be done. If it's too hot in the kitchen, get out," Garrard told Fairfax Media of Gerard.

"If he wants to sit on the bench, good. We've got work to do. I think the best idea is for him to take his own advice."

Meanwhile the Eels have reportedly accused the NRL of attributing quotes to the wrong officials in the recordings that formed some of their league's body of evidence in imposing the breach notice.
