Parramatta administrator Max Donnelly's initial tasks include moving to lure Jarryd Hayne back to the Eels and healing the rift between the troubled club and the NRL over the salary cap scandal.

Appointed after the state government intervened to sack the board, Donnelly said on Wednesday he would love to see superstar Hayne back at the Eels and the relationship between the club and the NRL needed to improve.

Donnelly, who said his role was likely to last until the start of the 2017 NRL season, also said the Eels needed to start again with new people on the Parramatta Leagues Club and football club boards.
