Parramatta players have vowed not to throw in the towel on their 2016 NRL campaign despite already being ruled out of finals contention.

In easily the worst season in the club's history, which included being docked 12 points for salary cap breaches, the 14th-placed Eels are simply playing for pride over the final six weeks of the year.

"We've had such a good season and we don't want to just toss in the towel now. We still want to show that we're a quality team despite everything that's happened," fullback Michael Gordon said after training on Wednesday.
